Every week Aaron offers a biblically sound message often delivered in creative, innovative, and dynamic ways.  God brought him to Perry in January 2006 with a message and a vision of transformation.  God desires that each person transform into the likeness of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Under his leadership and teaching you will receive relevant, practical methods of accomplishing God’s will in your life.

Aaron and Dulcie Summers were married in 1994 and have two children.  Samuel Aaron was born on September 1, 2001 and Isabella Grace was born February 11, 2004.

Aaron was born in Yuba City, CA on September 5, 1970 and  adopted at the age of 28 days.  Shortly after, the family moved to Rohnert Park, CA and remained there for 9 years.  It was during this time that his family began to attend the First Baptist Church and where he made a profession of faith at the age of 8.  In 1979, his father was transferred to Lousiville, KY and lived in a small suburb.  After his father answered the call to ministry they moved several times before Aaron finished Dyersburg High School Dyersburg, TN in 1988 with honors.

Aaron attended Union University in Jackson, TN 1988-1992.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Math.  While in college, he heard and answered the call of God to ministry.  He pastored a small, rural church in McKenzie, TN until graduation, when he moved to Texas to work on a Master's degree.

In the Fall of 1992, he attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.  He met Dulcie Ann Rogers in 1992 and they were married in 1994.    Aaron received a Master of Divinity with Languages and Dulcie received a Master of Communication in 1997.

Aaron has served Oklahoma churches since 1996 in Buffalo, Guymon, and Addington prior to his tenure at Perry.

I was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Yukon. I have lived in Oklahoma my entire life and for most of my life I was a part of Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, OK. I am blessed to have parents who made sure our family was always a part of the Church. I am also blessed to have grown up in a family where my dad was the spiritual leader and led our family to walk with Jesus. When I was in the seventh grade, God radically changed my life by saving me. I was one of those church kids who had previously walked an isle and taken a dip in front of my church, but I had never truly trusted Jesus. I knew He saved me as a seventh grader because I noticed a very apparent change in the way I viewed my life. Before, I saw church as a place to go and be entertained. I saw life as a chance for me to do what I want regardless of what it did to others. After Jesus saved me, I saw church as a group of people I am blessed to be a part of in service together for Christ. Life began to be for me a chance to serve others and share Christ with them through my words and actions. My life went from being self focused to being Jesus and others focused. Not long after Christ saved me, He called me to ministry.

In 2005 I married my better half, Stacey. She is an amazing and spirit-filled woman who is always there to support me in my life and ministry. My way of doing ministry is heavily influenced by the church I grew up in. It is also heavily influenced by the Bible and by the way my parents raised me. I believe in a ministry that is relationally driven. I think the best way to reach students is to build relationships with them. I also believe in strong involvement with parents and families. Since parents are intended by God to disciple their kids, I want to come alongside parents, helping them to understand their teens and helping them to disciple their kids from a biblical perspective. I realize that not every student in our ministry will have Christian parents. My goal is to personally help fill that void and also to challenge our students who do have Christian parents to help disciple students who do not. I also encourage families to spiritually adopt students who do not come from Christian homes.

My passions in life are following Christ, church, studying the Bible, family, and studying culture to learn how to better reach people. Some of my favorite things to do are playing guitar, writing and recording my own music, playing flag football, and I must admit to you that I still love a good game of Super Mario Bros. I love Jesus and I make every effort to center my life on Him.
